This is my first attempt at creating a ‘smoke’ effect on my text. Although I found creating a dark smudged background useful for the effect, the use of a smudge tool itself on the actual text doesn’t feel quite right. It’s difficult to actually manoeuvre the brush easily to create the soft swirls seen in smoke, and instead, to me me, this actually make it look like the text is falling fast through the air.
